Partner, New York

Kyle Roche is a founding partner of Freedman Normand Friedland LLP, where he has established himself as one of the nation's premier litigators and trial lawyers in complex commercial disputes and emerging technology law. A graduate of Purdue University (Chemical Engineering) and Northwestern University School of Law, Roche brings a unique analytical perspective to high-stakes litigation, leading to 50M+ pre-suit settlements and 100M+ trial victories.

As a dynamic strategist with extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, Roche has distinguished himself through his ability to integrate technological and economic expertise into sophisticated legal strategies. His defense practice focuses on representing emerging technology companies, CEOs, and venture capitalists navigating complex regulatory and litigation challenges. On the plaintiff side, he has architected and led groundbreaking class actions and mass arbitrations against major institutions across various industries.

At trial, Roche is undefeated. In 2025 alone, he co-led a nationally televised defamation trial on behalf of U.S. Navy veteran Zach Young against CNN, securing the first punitive damages award against a mainstream media defendant in more than 50 years. Just two months later, he served as lead trial counsel for his father in a product liability case against Precision Shooting Equipment after a compound bow explosion caused the loss of an eye. After taking over the case less than a month before trial, the jury awarded $10M - the highest verdict for a loss of eye case in U.S. history and the largest product liability verdict ever in Buffalo, NY.

Roche currently spearheads a landmark mass arbitration representing tens of thousands of parents and their children against TikTok, addressing the platform's alleged role in the youth mental health crisis identified by the U.S. Surgeon General. He also serves as lead counsel in a significant antitrust class action against Wall Street firms Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners, challenging anticompetitive practices involving non-compete agreements and forfeitures. Notably, the Federal Trade Commission adopted a nationwide ban on non-competes shortly after Roche filed this action.

In less than nine years since graduating law school, Roche has achieved industry and public recognition. He’s been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for six consecutive years (2020-2025) and was recently appointed to the board of directors of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, the nation’s oldest and leading cancer research institution. Nationally recognized for his expertise in cryptocurrency, blockchain, and financial technology, Roche has authored influential academic works and op-eds—including in The Wall Street Journal—and has been a guest lecturer at Northwestern University and Harvard University.
